Emory Law Alumni Week 2021

Over the years, the Law School Advancement and Alumni Engagement (AAE) office has hosted reunion events during a weekend in April to celebrate the accomplishments of Emory Law alumni and rebuild connections. This weekend, coined Emory Law Alumni Weekend or ELAW, continues to be a gathering for all Emory Law alumni, friends, and families.

With continuing uncertainty concerning large groups (and to remain consistent with University event protocol), Emory Law Alumni Weekend 2021 will be virtual. The silver lining: it’s now Emory Law Alumni Week, April 11-17, 2021! It’s for all alumni, but we’ll have special gatherings for reunion classes reunion classes that end in 0, 1, 5 and 6 and 1 year reunions for the Classes of 2019 and 2020.

We look forward to connecting and celebrating with you this April!

The Impact of Your Gift

By choosing to support these funds, your gift will impact the future of Emory Law and its students.

  • Law School Fund for Excellence: The Law School Fund for Excellence provides the flexibility to address pressing needs and allows the dean to be responsive to the areas of greatest need.
  • School of Law Scholarships Fund: Scholarships help Emory Law recruit a highly qualified and diverse student body and helps reduce the student debt burden associated with a legal education.
  • Emory Public Interest Committee (EPIC): This fund supports the Emory Public Interest Committee’s initiatives. Gifts are used to support the summer grants program for EPIC members who qualify and have a full time, unpaid summer internship in a public interest related field/office.
  • Student Organizations Income – Law: Emory Law has more than 60 student organizations to provide students with assistance in academic and professional settings. Gifts to this fund are used to support all Emory Law student organizations such as, the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal (EBDJ), Mock Trial, and Student Bar Association (SBA).
  • The Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans: The Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans (Emory VCV) assists low-income military veterans and military spouses with discharge upgrades, disability benefits claims, powers of attorney, wills, and advance directives for healthcare.
  • Black Law Student Association 1L Scholarship Endowment Fund: To address the issue of underrepresentation of minority students in both law schools and the law field, BLSA alumni leaders launched the BLSA 1L Scholarship. Gifts to this endowment will support an incoming Emory Law student in financial need, with a preference given to African American candidates.
  • Food Security Fund: Gifts to the Food Security Fund help fight food insecurity directly within the Emory student community by allowing students experiencing food insecurity to purchase their own food during breaks, while living off campus, and during remote learning.

ELAW Reunions Giving Challenge

For this year’s competition, we are challenging reunioning classes to increase their total class giving participation. Goals are different for each set of classes based on previous giving history, but we have added an additional 5% to all for the challenge.

  • Make your own gift on this page and then use the social share buttons to ask your network and classmates to join you.
  • Every donor to a class team page that reaches their goal number of donors by April 18th will receive an Emory Law bumper sticker.
  • Emory swag will be mailed in early May.
