Each year, over 40,000 agricultural workers in Georgia toil in the fields, harvesting the food that sustains us. Yet, most face barriers to basic healthcare. Long hours, remote locations, limited transportation, and economic hardship mean essential medical care is often out of reach. 

This is where the Emory Farmworker Project makes a difference. 

For nearly three decades, this service-learning initiative, led by the Emory Physician Assistant (PA) Program, has delivered free, high-quality healthcare directly to migrant farmworkers in South Georgia. Through mobile clinics set up in the fields, teams of PA students, faculty, and other clinical trainees, along with community partners, provide care to nearly 2,000 patients each year.
