Last season was a year of firsts for Emory men’s club ultimate Frisbee team, Juice. We won our first elite tournament and beat the national runner-up in University of Pittsburgh en route to our best ranking ever, finishing #14 in the country. We are striving to keep our momentum from last year and aspire to be the first Juice team to make it to college nationals. We are working harder than ever with more intense practices, mandatory workouts, scrimmages with local club players, and a renewed sense of urgency at practice.
Along with our recent success, the team has grown. Over the last four years, our roster size has doubled, leading to the creation of the Emory B-team, Pulp. Despite record attendance for our fall season, we need your support to continue competing at a high level. An important step in making our push to the national championship tournament is to again finish in the top 25, qualifying for a strength bid (earning a spot to play at the national tournament) for the southeast region. To gain a bid for our region, we will have to perform exceptionally well at all our upcoming tournaments. While we are still locking in our spring schedule, we know that we are traveling to Florida, North Carolina, and Alabama for better out-of-region competition. We need your support to help us cover travel and lodging expenses, equipment needs, and to help us sustain competing at a high level.
Juice provides an essential element to our college experience and gives us a sense of school spirit. We recognize that we are continuing a legacy started by all our alumni and for that we are grateful.
