Last season was another successful year for Juice, Emory men’s club ultimate frisbee team. We qualified for the Southeast Regional Tournament and took down our hometown rival Georgia Tech twice along the way. Juice ranked #18 in the nation and for the first time in team history supported a developmental B-team, Emory Pulp. The dedication of our B-team has already paid dividends leading into this year, as many former players helped Juice win the Capital City Showcase in Tallahassee this fall. We are striving to keep our momentum and aspire to be the first Juice team to make it to college nationals. We are working harder than ever before, with more intense practices, mandatory workouts, scrimmages with local club players, and a renewed sense of urgency at practice.
Along with our recent success, the team has grown. Over the last four years, our roster size has doubled. Despite record attendance for our fall season, we need your support to continue competing at a high level. An important step in making our push to the national championship tournament is to again finish in the top 25, qualifying for a strength bid (earning a spot to play at the national tournament) for the southeast region. To gain a bid for our region, we will have to perform exceptionally well at all our upcoming tournaments. Our schedule this semester includes tournaments in North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas. We need your support to help cover travel, lodging, and equipment costs.
Juice enhances our sense of school spirit and plays an essential part to our college experience. We recognize that we are continuing a legacy started by those who came before us. If Juice brings back fond recollections for you, if you are connected to current or former members of Juice, or if you would like to see us continue to strive to succeed at the highest level, please give us a hand.
