Social Impact 360 (SI360) is the first and largest mentorship-based training organization for young social entrepreneurs on college campuses nationwide. We train young people to identify and build solutions to social problems using business and entrepreneurship skills to maximize social impact. Our Emory chapter was established in 2013 and each year, our first-year fellows attend the Shift Series conference in the spring where all Social Impact 360 chapters from across the nation come together for a pitch competition, speeches from entrepreneurs, networking opportunities, and to learn the importance of social enterprise from professionals.
The SI360 community gathers annually for our Shift Series conference, bringing together 200+ students and alumni from leading universities, social and tech entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and corporate executives for a discussion around how we can prepare the next generation of socially-conscious leaders.
This project will help support travel and lodging expenses for first-year fellows to attend the Shift Series conference in March 2019. As this is the primary event for our organization, our goal is to afford all fellows the opportunity to attend no matter their financial background. Our main funding priority will be airline tickets and hotel rooms for two days.
Our dedicated fellows work throughout the academic year to develop and implement their business ideas with the ultimate goal of making a societal impact. Their hard work all leads up to the Shift Series conference, where they pitch their ideas to experienced social entrepreneurs. This experience—the culmination of so much classroom preparation and research—is often the first time they will apply theoretical ideas to real-world applications.
You can make it possible for our ambitious students to can reach their goals and attend the year-end conference. The high cost of travel, lodging, and meals throughout the weekend sometimes prevents our fellows from experiencing this incredible opportunity. With your help, our fellows can demonstrate their innovative solutions to societal problems!
Gifts to this Momentum project go to the Emory College Council which supports Emory’s Social Impact 360.
