The mental health of health care workers has been described as an invisible epidemic.
Our heroic Emory Healthcare workers on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic are at higher risk than the general public of developing anxiety, depression, stress during the outbreak because of extended hours, dealing with grief, and harboring a fear of spreading the virus to their loved ones.
To help the helpers, faculty in Emory’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences are volunteering to provide acute triage and assessment for Emory Healthcare personnel, faculty, trainees, and medical students.
You can support the expansion of these critically important pro bono services by making a gift to help provide mental health services to frontline health care workers.
