The Emory Nursing Learning Center (ENLC) is an innovative new facility designed to anticipate challenges in nursing education and embrace innovative technologies and advanced teaching methods.
Every gift to the Emory Nursing Learning Center counts and helps create opportunities for caregivers like Everett G. Moss II, BSN, RN, CCRN, a DNP student in Emory’s Nurse Anesthesia program. He said, “The opportunity to practice in a realistic, high fidelity, and SAFE environment is truly remarkable. It’s hard to imagine the things that we will encounter, but to practice real-world scenarios in a simulated setting will only make us better and contribute to safe and effective patient outcomes.” Previously a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Atlanta, as Everett was considering nursing schools, access to simulation learning was the key to his decision to come to Emory.
The COVID pandemic has underscored the important role nurses play in the health care system. It also has led to burn out in the nursing field, making attracting and training the next generation of nurses all the more critical, as well as providing ongoing continuing education for those already in the field.
