Thank you for your interest in the Momentum campaign for the Dr. Mohammad Wehbi Gastroenterology Fellow Award Endowment. This crowdfunding campaign has ended, but if you would still like to support this award, please see the information below.
Thank you to all who helped to honor the legacy of Dr. Mohammad Wehbi, beloved mentor and colleague of both Emory School of Medicine Faculty and United Digestive. You all made this award possible!
Introducing Thuy-Van (Tina) Hang, MD. Hang is one of the chief GI fellows at Emory University. She graduated Stanford University with a BAS in Asian American Studies with Honors and Biology before coming back home to Georgia to obtain her MD from the Medical College of Georgia, Athens Campus. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Emory University with a distinction in Social Medicine. Her academic interests include health equity, quality improvement, medical education, and hepatology. As the recipient of such honors as the ACG Young Scholars Program 2021, ACG Presidential Poster 2018, and ASLD Emerging Liver Scholar 2018, the Emory School of Medicine of Digestive Diseases is incredibly proud of Hang and thrilled that she will continue with Emory. She is excited to stay on as faculty next year at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she will be focusing on hepatology.
We are happy to share that, thanks to your selfless, generosity, we have reached the goal to endowing the Dr. Mohammad Wehbi Gastroenterology Fellow Award. We appreciate you honoring the life and legacy of the former Gastroenterology Fellowship Associate Program Director, excellent medical provider with United Digestive, dedicated father, and dear friend. Many donors who were friends, colleagues at United Digestive, mentees from Emory School of Medicine, and more have shown their support through the campaign – a true reflection of the lasting impact of Dr. Wehbi.
Though the goal to establish this award has been met, there is still time to make an impact if you know of others who may want to help this endowment grow. The campaign will be open through Wednesday, March 31! You can share this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn, or by email (http://momentum.emory.edu/wehbi) to help raise awareness.
This fund will support an award for the GI Fellow who embodies Mo’s example: hard-working with demonstrated excellence in clinical care and scholarship.
