Our 2023 Momentum Campaign is Underway!

May 03, 2023

Hello!

Thank you again for supporting the Emory Helpline annual Momentum fundraising campaign during summer 2022.

Since then – and thanks to your generous support – we’ve been very busy. We’ve successfully recruited and trained another – and larger – class of Helpline volunteers and hosted our first in-person alumni networking event. We’ve continued our paraprofessional support services, which are no longer operating on a limited schedule, and expanded to Emory’s Oxford College campus. Also, we’re excited to share with you that we’ve initiated the process to extend our services to texting/SMS, which we plan to implement next year.

Of course, we hope to continue growing and serving our university community. To that end, we’ve launched our 2023 Momentum campaign at http://momentum.emory.edu/helpline23.

Please consider renewing your funding support for our organization and/or helping us spread the word by sharing our campaign to your networks via Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn

With gratitude,
Irene Daboin Dominguez, PhD. – Helpline staff advisor

Thank you again!

September 12, 2022

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We have officially wrapped up our 2022 Emory HelpLine Momentum Campaign and met our $5,000 goal. We are so grateful for your generosity, and we are very much looking forward to putting your contributions to work. For example, we are on track to recruit a larger training cohort for spring 2023. Your funds will help cover operational costs associated with training, including expanding our training resources so we can continue to build our volunteer base. We look forward to partnering with you for decades to come to support our university community’s mental health and well-being. With this in mind, we plan to fundraise via Emory’s Momentum platform every year – so please be on the lookout for us next year!

Thank you once again for all of your support!

You're Helping Us Make an Impact!

July 12, 2022

Dear campaign donors,

Thank you all so much for your contributions thus far! With your generosity, we are almost at 75% from our $5000 goal. We have decided to extend our timeline through July 31 in an effort to reach our original goal. Would you consider sharing our campaign link to your social network to help us reach our goal? You can easily share by Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Being the staff advisor for the Emory Helpline is one of my greatest professional joys and it has been made all that much sweeter by knowing we have your support! I leave you with a brief note from one of our 2021-2022 co-chairs and TAs, Hailey Greenstone, who is headed to medical school and ready to share her Helpline skills with the world.

With gratitude,
Irene Daboin Dominguez, Ph.D.

“The Helpline was the most meaningful involvement I participated in at Emory. I applied because I have always been drawn to supporting people and creating spaces where people can safely share about their mental health, but I had no idea just what a powerful space the Helpline would be for me and my personal growth. Because of the Helpline and the faith that the other volunteers had in me, I was able to grow into a stronger servant-leader while being authentically myself. The Helpline helped me to feel heard and to hear those around me, allowed me to make a tangible impact on the well-being of my community, and gave me opportunities to mentor, collaborate, and lead with kindness and service at the heart of my interactions. As I enter medical school this year, I can say with absolute certainty that I would not feel ready for this next step without the Helpline. I now know how to help people find the right answers for their unique experience of life and mental health, and I know how to advocate for the well-being of others. I am forever grateful to have served as a Helpliner.”
