As most of you are aware, Kembrel Jones passed away in May 2022 from a heart attack after retiring and moving back to Alabama to care for his ailing mother.
Kembrel was such an integral part of so many people’s Goizueta experience from his own Class of 2000 through his time as Associate Dean of the Full-Time MBA Program in 2007. His passion, his empathy, his attitude, his genuine interest and care in your personal story and success, his smile, all continue to make a positive impact on many lives.
In honor of a great leader, mentor, friend, and the ultimate cheerleader, Goizueta Business School is fundraising for the B. Kembrel Jones Leadership Scholarship.
The recipient will be a 2nd year full-time MBA student who enhances the Goizueta Business School experience for the entire community. This person will share the traits that made Kembrel such an amazing person and leader: intelligence, empathy, tenacity, enthusiasm, positivity, and the ability to make everyone around them better.
The goal will be increased as certain donation targets are reached. We are trying to reach as high a target as possible to honor Kembrel’s indelible impact during his life, education, and careers at University of North Alabama, Harvard University, Goizueta Business School, Emory University, The Wharton School, and The University of Pennsylvania.
Thank you for considering a gift to this worthwhile cause which pays tribute to an incredible person, will keep his legacy thriving and provide opportunities for future generations to continue changing the world for the better. I know he is cheering us on in spirit!

By giving through this campaign, your gift will be designated for the B. Kembrel Jones Leadership Scholarship within Gifts Pending- GBS Endowed Scholarship, a holding account until the $250,000 endowment threshold is achieved. Should the minimum funding required to endow the scholarship not be secured by December 2022, gifts will be redirected to the B. Kembrel Jones Expendable Scholarship.
