Ethics Empowered

Empower Ethics as a Force for Good

Join us for Global Ethics Day on October 19th, 2022ETHICS EMPOWERED Using the power of ethics to build a better world.

For this year’s Global Ethics Day initiative, we are honoring the memory of Emory’s Center for Ethics founder, Dr. James Fowler. Dr. Fowler has left Emory with a visionary legacy. He stood as a powerful example of global leadership in ethics, faith, moral courage, and social justice. In 2017, his family and friends established the Dr. James Fowler Ethics Fund to honor his vision and life’s work. His leadership and actions still guide us – as it will for each new generation. Join us to build community connections and empower collective action toward a more just, equitable, and ethical society. Dr. Fowler’s legacy belongs to all of us, and we invite you to share in this deeply transformational work to make a positive difference in this world that we share.

The Impact of Your Gift

The Fowler Fund was created by Jim’s family and friends to honor his foundational work in igniting moral imagination and courage. The fund allows the Center for Ethics to continue to explore creative ways his work can inform us today and be translated into action.  We are grateful to you for partnering in this effort.

Your support means:

  • Free public lectures: Scholars and speakers who help us explore questions of integrity, justice, compassion and meaning in the realm of human behavior and moral life.
  • Community-building: Shared exhibits or installations with like-minded regional organizations that bring several communities together.
  • Student support: Stipends for outstanding students involved in the study of topics such as servant leadership training, faith and ethical development, civil rights, social justice, death and dying, and global human rights.
