Ben Pius Mock Trial is Emory’s completely student-run trial advocacy team. Every year, students receive a case file and build a case to compete against schools around the nation. Students fill both attorney and witness roles, practicing public speaking, debate, and improvisation in a fun team environment. Currently ranked 19th in the nation, Ben Pius Mock Trial has qualified for the National Championships for seven consecutive years and collected over 200 individual awards.
For the past decade, Emory students have worked to build Ben Pius Mock Trial. Being completely student-run, Ben Pius Mock Trial provides students with countless opportunities for growth. Currently, we are working to host our fifth annual Peach Bowl Tournament! Last year, we were able to invite 26 of the top teams in the nation to compete in Atlanta with us. Peach Bowl is consistently recognized as one of the most prestigious invitationals in the nation, and this year we are working to make it even better.
By hosting a tournament, Ben Pius Mock Trial provides opportunities for other schools to compete. We pride ourselves on hosting in the Fulton County Courthouse every year, providing students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in Atlanta’s largest premier courthouse. We are currently working on supplying visiting teams with even more amenities to ensure they have the most enjoyable competition experience possible.
The Fifth Annual Peach Bowl Invitational is scheduled for October 2023 and we need your help to host it! Booking fees associated with our venue have continued to rise over the years. In order to continue giving students the best competition experience possible, we need your help to secure Fulton County Courthouse and fairly compensate all of the security and custodial staff that work to support us throughout the weekend. Gifts of all amounts and at any level will mitigate the costs associated with running a tournament significantly. We cannot thank you enough for making our efforts possible through your generosity.
