Thank you for your interest in this Momentum fundraiser. You can still support Emory Pickleball by making a gift here, today!
We are a new club on Emory's campus, and we are hoping to compete in more collegiate level pickleball tournaments this year. Anything that is fundraised will be used to pay for travel fees (flight tickets/lodging/transportation) as well as for purchasing new equipment to help improve our member's quality of practice!
If our campaign does not meet the dollar goal, we can still use the fundraised amount to pay for equipment, as we are always open to buying more balls/paddles/nets for club use. A few goals we have (separate from travel) is to replace our current nets with better quality ones as well as to host an Intra-Georgia tournament with KSU, UGA, Georgia Tech, and GSU; host an open doubles tournament on campus.
Our goal is to increase the awareness of pickleball within the collegiate community by introducing new students to the sport as well as fostering a competitive environment for experienced players to compete against other universities. We are hoping to achieve this goal by planning for 5 scheduled tournaments throughout this 2023-2024 academic year. These tournaments include:
Other ways we plan to cultivate a greater pickleball community include hosting fundraiser events on campus and sending members to volunteer in community service activities with FODAC, food pantries, and more!
Having gone from a community that had never heard of pickleball to having 4 freshly painted courts on the Clairmont campus and 30 consistent/recurring members, Emory Pickleball has experienced significant growth over the past year. As we enter the 2023-2024 school year, the demand for pickleball on campus has skyrocketed, with over 200 students signing up to participate in club practices. In order to compete and establish a greater pickleball scene in the college community, your support will help us send students to compete in regional and national DUPR tournaments against other universities. Your support will also directly contribute to the growth of the Georgia pickleball community, as the campus courts are one of the only available spaces within the metropolitan area of Atlanta, and we have plans to build at least 2 dedicated pickleball courts by the end of the school year. Moreover, we have already discussed plans to host a tournament featuring 11 universities in the southeast United States region, too.
This can help us cover member entry fees for tournaments on the official collegiate level with DUPR’s regional/national tournaments as well as to cover entry fees for Emory-hosted Intra-Georgia collegiate tournaments!
This would help us purchase higher quality paddles to give new members a better experience when trying out the sport!
This amount can be used to purchase new nets to replace our current ones, which are wearing down from excessive use.
This will be used to purchase prizes (high-quality paddles, merch, custom paddles, etc.) for players that win our locally hosted tournaments.
We can use this amount to purchase tickets to fly our members out of state to compete against other universities.
