Thank you for your interest in this Momentum crowdfunding project. This campaign has ended, but you can still support Ben Pius Mock Trial by making a gift here, today!
Ben Pius Mock Trial is Emory’s completely student-run trial advocacy team. Every year, students receive a case file and build a case to compete against schools around the nation. Students fill both attorney and witness roles, practicing public speaking, debate, and improvisation in a fun team environment. Currently ranked 19th in the nation, Ben Pius Mock Trial has qualified for eight National Championships and collected over 250 individual awards.
For the past decade, Emory students have worked to build Ben Pius Mock Trial. Being completely student-run, Ben Pius Mock Trial provides students with countless opportunities for growth. Our alumni have gone on to earn degrees from Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, Emory Medical School, as well as earned positions with BCG and J.P. Morgan. Through mock trial, students develop communication skills that are applicable across all fields. Each year, we strive to increase our impact through attending more competitive tournaments more frequently. As our program has grown, we have been able to travel to some of the best tournaments in the nation, Chicago, New York City, and D.C. We rely on your donations to continue to provide our team with these opportunities.
Managing the tournament schedules of three teams results in a lot of costs. Throughout the season, we have to pay for airfare, lodging, gas, poster boards, and paper supplies. Multiply this by 20 for the 20 tournaments we attend in an academic year and the dollars start to add up! Over the years, we have been incredibly fortunate to see the support from our community grow alongside our program. We truly would not be where we are today without your help and we continue to rely on donations like yours! Gifts of any and all amounts help us keep student dues low and keep Emory Mock Trial accessible to all students regardless of financial background. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
