Thank you for your interest in this Momentum crowdfunding project. This campaign has ended, but you can still support Emory DPT Dominican Republic Service Learning by making a gift here, today!
This campaign is raising money for a service-learning trip to the Dominican Republic, where third-year Doctorate of Physical Therapy students along with licensed PTs provide physical therapy services to those in need in the Dominican Republic. The funds raised in this campaign will go towards buying medical supplies and equipment (extra assistive devices, bandages, etc.) in the DR and travel costs for the students. We appreciate your support as we try to provide physical therapy services to many who need it.
The area of the Dominican Republic where this trip takes place, San Francisco de Macoris, does not have access to physical therapy services. Many people are not able to get the wound care and gait training they need to live independently. Many caretakers are not able to get the resources and education they need to help their families. During this trip, we provide assistive devices, wound care, and training for people in the Dominican Republic to live more full and safe lives.
Your monetary contributions help provide supplies and equipment for patients in need in the Dominican Republic, as well as, support the student’s transportation and housing costs. Your support in our endeavors can have lasting impacts on the people we help and their community.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund, "Allied Health - Physical Therapists". While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
Your gift of $10 can help provide bandages and wound care supplies for a patient.
Your gift of $25 can help provide assistive devices, like crutches and canes.
Your gift of $100 can help support a student’s cost for transportation to the Dominican Republic.
