Uplifting Our Own: Support Emory Employees in Need

Give today to help our peers in times of crisis.

Faculty and staff members are the heart and soul of Emory University. Our work helps create an unparalleled Emory experience—one where community and belonging are paramount. In the spirit of that culture of connection, our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Emory University Employee Hardship Fund, the amount in resources the Emory University Employee Hardship Fund typically awards each month. Please consider a gift to this fund today.

The Employee Hardship Fund symbolizes our commitment to mutual support, ensuring that no member of our university community faces financial hardship alone. The beneficiaries of this fund are our own colleagues, friends who are navigating through times of crisis when assistance is crucially needed. These crises range from natural disasters like fires or tornadoes to unforeseen circumstances such as ruptured pipes, loss of income, bereavement, or overwhelming medical expenses.

The Emory University Employee Hardship Fund was established to offer monetary grants to Emory employees facing such difficulties. This fund is largely driven by donations from Emory employees, and 100 percent of the monies go to employees with a demonstrated financial hardship. However, between 2020 and 2023, the fund actually awarded more money ($224,360) than it collected in donations ($132,959).

Now more than ever, our peers need support.

By supporting the Emory University Employee Hardship Fund, we’re not just making a monetary gift—we’re giving hope, solidarity, and the reassurance that together, we can overcome any challenge.
