What’s New at Theater Emory
We are excited to share that we will be presenting a workshop production of Static Head, a new play by our 2023-2025 Playwriting Fellow, Ryan Stevens. Following this, we are delighted to welcome back Alumna Park Krausen, who will direct a fresh translation by David van Schoor of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, subtitled “Lucy’s Strategy.” This production promises a unique twist on the classic comedy, complete with original music by Eugene H. Russell IV.

Exciting Updates from Theater Emory
This fall, we brought Maria Irene Fornes’ powerful play MUD to the stage, featuring a talented mix of students and professionals. We also hosted a Fornes weekend, which included musical excerpts from Promenade and a reading of The Successful Life of 3. Additionally, we welcomed three new faculty members and new administrative staff to our Theater Studies department. Our work continued with a cross-disciplinary production of Gao Xingjian’s The Other Shore, directed by 23-24 Dance Fellow Annalee Traylor.
