Our mission is to make rowing accessible to any Emory student and to compete at a high level.
The team was founded in 1990 and has continued to grow since then. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to move into a tent-like structure that now serves as a makeshift boathouse. With your help, we were able to retrofit it with boat racks for proper storage and to reduce the chance of injury. We recently purchased a 4-seater to accommodate our dedicated and passionate rowers. However, the job isn’t done! We continue to face the challenges that come with a growing team, and we need your help to keep growing and winning.
The most essential tools for our team's training are our rowing machines, or ergometers. While our current machines have served us well over the years, many are now showing significant wear and tear, impacting their effectiveness for practice. Also, we recruited the largest novice class we have seen in years, but they cannot practice together due to our limited supply of functioning ergometers. Therefore, to maintain the high standard of training required for competition, we are launching this campaign to raise funds for the purchase of five new ergometers. These will enable our team to train effectively and continue to pursue our mission with dedication. Your support will bring us closer to achieving this goal and ensuring our athletes have the equipment they need to succeed. Every contribution makes a difference, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
