Thank you for your interest in helping Dooley's Players. This campaign has ended, but if you would still like to support this group, you can make a gift here, today!
Formed out of the merger between Starving Artists Productions and AHANA Theater, Dooley’s Players is a student theater organization which puts on four productions each school year. Each semester, we put on a Mainstage Show and a Special Project, both of which are selected from the proposals of passionate student directors. Our Mainstage Shows range from Shakespearean classics to contemporary comedies, and our recent Special Projects have included student-written works and immersive, site-specific theater.
Dooley’s Players’ mission is to provide opportunities for students to produce and develop their own theatrical works, with a focus on productions that are relevant and spark discussion on campus. We aim to learn, teach, and share, and make theater accessible for all Emory students regardless of major or academic focus, whether as actors, directors, designers, crew members, or from the audience.
We put on two productions each semester, both of which are entirely student led, from the production team to the directors to the cast and crew. Our performances frequently sell out, and our two productions this Fall 2024 semester each drew hundreds of audience members during their runs.
Your support will ensure Dooley’s Players can continue to put on our two entirely student-led productions each semester, allowing student directors, actors, designers, and tech crews to bring their visions to life for large audiences. We do not charge for tickets in order to keep our shows as accessible as possible for the Emory community. However, putting on high-quality student theater involves purchasing performance rights, props, costumes, and set pieces. Your support will ensure that Dooley’s Players can continue to offer our shows for both the students who participate in them and the Emory community at large, while keeping our tickets free of cost.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
