Rollins Cares for Future Public Health Leaders

At the Rollins School of Public Health, tomorrow’s public health leaders are being shaped today—leaders who will make our communities stronger and healthier for all.

However, as today’s students work toward their degrees, unexpected challenges can arise—whether a partner loses a job, the car breaks down, or medical expenses stretch the budget.

That’s where Rollins Cares comes in. Rollins Cares provides essential support to students facing unexpected financial hardship. By investing directly in students through this fund, you help future Rollins grads pursue their dreams. Recently, a Rollins student received funding after being affected by the Los Angeles-area wildfires.

“Rollins Cares funding will help make my dreams a reality. Earning a master’s in epidemiology at the Rollins School of Public Health has always been my goal because of the outstanding education and opportunities offered. I plan to fully leverage my graduate school experience to become the best public health professional I can be.”—Rollins Cares recipient

When students face unexpected financial challenges and apply for Rollins Cares, the first person they meet is Jena Black, director of academic affairs. In Black’s view, the fund offers more than just financial support—it signals that the Rollins community is there during difficult times

“I wish our donors could see the look on a student’s face when I share not only that we are able to support them but how and why we are able to support them. These gifts come from those who came before them and are public health professionals, from faculty who teach them in class, and from staff who deeply care about the student experience,” Black shared.

A gift to Rollins Cares—of any size—helps future public health leaders realize their full potential, preparing them for the transformative work they will do in our communities and around the world.
