Our Crowdfunding Groups
We have a mission to create a sustainable impact for rural or indigenous Guatemalan populations through community development initiatives and educational programs that teach them how to live a healthier lifestyle.
In addition to the educational and public health support we hope to provide, we invite healthcare professionals to travel to Guatemala to provide free consultations and develop culturally appropriate treatment plans based on available resources. Thus, families are equipped with the tools to improve their overall well-being, and any acute issues that exist get addressed as well.
Emory Helps Guatemala is aiming to raise $1,000 to improve living conditions for Guatemalan families by providing ventilated stoves, water purification systems, and oral health kits. This preventative initiative will tackle health issues caused by indoor open fires commonly used in cooking, waterborne diseases, and poor oral hygiene. Additionally, we want to be able to purchase necessary materials, such as microscopes, for community outreach activities!
By supporting this initiative, you will directly contribute to improving the health and quality of life for vulnerable families in Guatemala by providing access to clean water, essential medical supplies, and sustainable community resources. Every donation, large or small, helps us implement life-changing programs that address critical health disparities and empower local communities to build a healthier future. A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
$10 could fund the printing of healthcare educational pamphlets and supply personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and face shields for healthcare providers
$15 can help provide oral health kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss, along with hygiene kits that include soap, hand sanitizer, shampoo, and menstrual hygiene products
$30 can help purchase essential medicines like antibiotics, vitamins, and pain relievers
$60 could fund the installation of a household water filtration system, including filters and maintenance materials, providing a family with consistent access to clean, safe drinking water
$170 can help fund the building of a smoke-free, energy-efficient indoor stove, which reduces harmful smoke inhalation and respiratory illnesses, especially in women and children
