HeartStart Emory
The purpose of HeartStart Emory (HSE) is to serve as a team of American Heart Association Certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) instructors for Emory University and the wider Atlantic Area. We strive to provide high-quality CPR and BLS classes to help reduce the bystander effect and educate individuals on how to perform high quality CPR on infants, children, and adults. We also have CPR/BLS certified members who help educate the importance of learning CPR and being prepared to act in emergencies. We also have an annual CPR/BLS Instructor Program to certify individuals to become American Heart Association (AHA) certified CPR instructors, equipping them with leadership skills, the ability to think on their feet, and effective communication techniques in high-pressure situations.
We are fundraising to make BLS classes as affordable as possible to the Emory community by covering the cost of the American Heart Association (AHA) provider cards required for all participants. By reducing financial barriers, we can ensure more individuals in our community receive essential CPR training and save more lives!
Our student organization is open to all students.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
