Graduate Nursing Council
We represent Emory School of Nursing graduate students, which includes the pre-licensure Master’s in Nursing (MN) cohorts that prepare nurses to sit for their RN license who obtain additional leadership courses within their degrees. Additionally, we represent all MSN and DNP cohorts, regardless of specialty; this includes CRNA and all RN-to-PhD students. If our graduate nursing programs need funding to provide additional learning opportunities—such as hosting a guest speaker or attending specialty-specific national conventions—each program can request funds to achieve these initiatives and enrich students’ learning outside of the classroom.
This year, the funds made available to our organization have assisted nursing students in a number of ways. We have had the honor of purchasing state-of-the-art SIM lab equipment, such as the MamaAnne birthing simulator, which is capable of simulating labor and birth, shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and much more, as well as a Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) machine for the NNP/PNP programs. This allows students to learn bedside ultrasound and diagnostic techniques—a new technology that not all universities provide to their students. Additionally, the SIM lab at the SON previously had this machine equipped only with adult mannequins and software, which were not compatible with pediatric needs. Now, all of our programs have access to this technology. Your funds will greatly improve our ability to further the education of all our future NPs and graduate nurses, enriching their learning and providing a state-of-the-art education that can only be obtained at universities such as Emory. Your assistance to our learning is appreciated beyond measure.
Our student organization is open to all students.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
