This project will be launching soon.
Plastic Free Emory
Plastic Free Emory is a student-led initiative dedicated to tackling single-use plastic on Emory’s Atlanta & Oxford campuses through community-wide outreach, sustainability education, policy changes, and most importantly, a “Break Free From Plastic” pledge. The pledge is a 5-year reduction plan signed by Emory's administration that aims to phase out unnecessary single-use plastic in all Emory facilities. In response to our pledge, the university is launching a “Break Free From Plastic” taskforce this semester, inviting on-campus stakeholders involved in the climate or plastic space to share knowledge, develop policy, and strategically implement plastic-reduction programs.
Your gift will directly support Plastic Free Emory’s work to eliminate single-use plastics on Emory’s campuses through education, events, and the implementation of Emory’s “Break Free From Plastic” Pledge. Donations will also help advance innovative projects like our initiative with Generation Conscious, which aims to bring sustainable laundry detergent sheets to campus, reducing both plastic waste and student costs, as well as our student government-backed reusable tumbler initiative, which disincentivizes single-use coffee cups at university cafés. With your support, we will continue driving policy changes and engaging the community toward a more sustainable, plastic-free campus. Thank you for helping us make this impact possible!
Our student organization is open to all students.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
