National Council of Negro Women
National Council of Negro Women
We are a newly charted collegiate chapter of the National Council of Negro Women, looking to empower our campus through sisterhood and community involvement. Our nation-wide organization was founded in 1935 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, an influential educator and activist, and for forty years, the iconic Dr. Dorothy Height was president of NCNW. We promote education, encourage entrepreneurship, financial literacy and economic stability, educate on women's health and healthcare access, and promote civic engagement for sound public policy and social justice.
Thanks to your generous donation, our organization will be able to execute dynamic programming to support our new Big/Lil Sister initiative aimed at helping underclassmen through college, young adult life, and career aspirations at Emory. We will also be able to engage in need-based community volunteer and educational events to engage with the greater Emory community.
Our student organization is open to all students.
A gift to this project is a donation to this organization’s general fund. While the group has stated their needs for funding, their leadership may use funds raised for any purpose consistent with their registered student organization mission at Emory.
