What is EIRA?

We are a student-run and led group that houses the Emory Model United Nations Team. Our team is ranked in the top 30 in North America and climbing fast. In addition to competing, EIRA hosts professional development opportunities for students and volunteers with K-12 institutions in Atlanta through the Model UN Youth Mentorship Program in collaboration with Emory Graduation Generation. Our organization also hosts two annual national Model UN Competitions on Emory’s campus which attract hundreds of college and high school students from across the country.

The Impact of Our Organization

Contributions will be immediately put to use planning our spring roster of competitions, registering for competitions, paying for logistics such as transportation, and ensuring that our team has all the support that they need. Competing provides our team members with crucial experience in public speakership, leadership, and resolving global challenges. It also will be used to help the immediate costs associated with hosting our high school conference, ENMUNC. We’ve been able to enhance public communication and understanding of global issues among the high school students we mentor and host for our conferences.

Your donations contribute to our team’s ability to compete across the nation, enhancing the prestige of Emory University and honing the skills of the 60+ dedicated students who are a part of our team. Your contribution will help us compete at the highest level with other top schools who are able to afford twice as many conferences as EIRA, along with allowing for the inclusion of low-income and first-generation students into our travel team. Additionally, your contributions sustain our community initiatives, such as the youth mentorship program, MUNYM, and fostering a positive impact in Atlanta through our ENMUNC high school conference.
