Juice, Emory’s club-level men’s ultimate team, has set a goal of qualifying for college nationals for the increasingly popular competitive flying disc sport, sometimes referred to by the trademarked name “Ultimate Frisbee.” After a successful season in which we defeated UNC-Wilmington, the second ranked team in the nation, culminating with a 5th place finish at regionals, Juice is working hard to improve on last year’s success. We are practicing harder than ever, scrimmaging with competitive local clubs, and grinding through mandatory workouts so we can be the first team to represent Emory at the national championship tournament.
We have built up our team community and almost doubled our roster size over the last three years, so we are in need of additional funding. The first major step towards the national championship tournament is to secure a “strength bid” for the southeast region. We do this by performing well at upcoming tournaments and by facing better regional teams, which will increase our ranking. To compete at the highest levels, we need your support to cover the cost of travel and lodging.
Juice plays a key role in our Emory experience and fills us with school spirit. We recognize that we are continuing a legacy started by our alumni, and for that we are grateful. Does Juice bring back fond memories? If you don’t have a means to donate, we would still appreciate you sharing this page with someone who can help Juice.
We will post our complete spring tournament schedule once it is finalized. If we play close to you, we hope you’ll come cheer us on. Follow us on Twitter @EmoryJuice.
