Thank you for your interest in the School of Medicine's Class of 2019 Momentum campaign supporting scholarships at the Emory School of Medicine. This crowdfunding campaign has ended, but you can still support our scholarships. Give today!
Dear Generous Donors,
Yesterday was the last day of our fundraising campaign and we wanted to take a moment to extend our greatest gratitude to each of you for the effort you put forth to help make attendance at Emory University School of Medicine more affordable for a student in high financial need. Together we raised over $9000! This campaign was the first of its type to be launched at the medical school and we project leaders are so proud that this project even got off the ground. The amount raised far exceeded our expectations and we cannot express enough thanks for your support. Please know that your donation will not only reduce a future student's debt, but it will also relieve a bit of the mental stress that such debt brings while also contributing to the students overall well being and academic success.
Thank you again and we hope you continue to personify the spirit of our campaign by helping others reach their fullest potential.
Sincerely,
Raha and Michele
On Monday, the Class of 2019 graduated! With one milestone down, we have plenty more to go, and our futures are promising. We couldn’t have done this without all of the support we've received throughout the years. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support for our crowdfunding campaign to raise scholarship funds for a future medical student who qualifies for high financial need! So many have already helped to make the Emory School of Medicine more accessible to all. Our crowdfunding campaign closes at the end of the day this Sunday, so if you haven’t done so already, or if you’d like to do more, now is your chance to support another future medical doctor. Please share our crowdfunding link, https://momentum.emory.edu/M2019, one last time on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Help us with this final push to reach our goal!
Thank you!

Tomorrow, future medical students will commit to a single medical school for matriculation in a few months. This means that a potential future recipient of this scholarship will be choosing Emory for their medical education soon.

Thank you to those of you who have already donated! We’re halfway through our fundraising campaign time, but we still have some room to reach the halfway mark for our goal of $20,000!
Did you know, NYU was the first private institution to offer free medical education to all students. Emory has many gracious donors, and many students are benefitting from their generosity. However, Emory is still in need of more donations to be able to provide free medical education for all. Let’s get Emory one step closer to being able to do the same!

…and 4 weeks to go! We’re almost a third of the way to our goal of $20,000. Can we reach the halfway mark by next week?
Many competitive applicants won’t be able to attend medical school. They aren’t able to do what they love because don’t know how to pay student loans back. Their families won’t let them go into debt, because it’s a hardship on the family. Potential applicants to medical school are limited by socioeconomic background – let’s help close that gap.

The Emory School of Medicine Class of 2019 has officially launched its first crowdfunding campaign to help fund a scholarship that will assist a future Emory medical student paying the daunting cost of medical school. Thank you to those of you who have already donated!
The rising cost of medical school tuition is a nationwide issue which deters many applicants from becoming physicians. One week into the campaign, we have already raised 23 percent of our goal! Below are some frequently asked questions that we have received and answers that will hopefully inspire you or someone you know to support this cause.
FAQ
Q: Who will this scholarship go to?
A: An incoming Emory medical student who falls under the category of “high financial need”.
Q: What does “high financial need” mean?
A: When a student applies for financial aid, their need is based on an estimated amount of tuition that the student and their family can afford to pay themselves. The difference between tuition and estimated family contribution is the student’s need. This need can range anywhere from $0 to the full cost of tuition. Need is then broken down into categories like low financial need, moderate financial need, etc. “High financial need” is the highest of these categories.
Q: How do I know this money will be used for its intended purpose?
A: In asking donors to contribute to this fundraiser, Emory is required to use the money as described on the fundraising website. If Emory sought to use the money for another purpose, they would have to ask each individual donor for permission to do so.
