The Need Continues

August 12, 2021

In the past two years, more than $120,000 has been disbursed from the Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund to cover emergency expenses for those who are caring for us.

While emergency financial crises may happen at any time, COVID-19 increased the likelihood of these hardships. By helping Emory Healthcare employees during times of great need, the Hardship Fund offers financial assistance for eligible employees navigating the difficult setbacks that COVID-19 has created.

Or as one frontline worker put it: “We're always here to take care of other people. It's nice to know that we're taken care of, too. When you’re going through something, you feel alone. To know that someone cares enough to help, really matters. I truly feel that I am part of Emory."

Your help in the face of this pandemic shows how deeply you care for those who care for us. In the wake of your remarkable support last year, the recent surge in cases serves as a stark reminder that the need continues.

Your support for health care-focused causes matters more than ever—which is why we’re reaching out to invite you to re-invest in the Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund or one of Emory’s other relief funds. Learn more and renew your gift at https://momentum.emory.edu/forward.

Your generosity has made such a difference to Emory Healthcare employees

April 08, 2020

Thank you for helping Emory Healthcare employees with your gift.

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly disrupted daily life—but few people have been affected more than health care workers.

Fortunately, you were there to help with your gift to the Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund.

The employees who have benefitted from this fund are sharing how much it means to them. Below are just a few examples:

“When I got approved to cover childcare expenses, it was as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I am so grateful. I appreciate that I was given help to provide care for my daughter so that I can care for patients during these unprecedented times.”

—Medical assistant, Emory Clinic

"I owe so many people a debt of gratitude. I thank everyone who made a gift of support to the EHC Employee Hardship Program for your kindness and generosity."

—Nurse clinician, Emory University Hospital Midtown

The Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund was there to help during their time of need.

As the situation continues to develop, the needs of our employees continue to change. Your generosity has made all the difference in the world to our frontline heroes, and we look forward to telling you more about the Emory Healthcare employees you are helping in our next status report.

To increase your impact, please share why you donated to the Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund with the tag #EmoryTogether via Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity

March 27, 2020

Thanks to your generosity, we have raised over $2,500 for the Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund in the past two days. Just as Emory Healthcare employees are rapidly responding to the emergent needs caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, you have stepped up to rapidly respond to their needs.

For Emory Healthcare employees who are now unable to provide care for their children because of their increased hours at work, your gift could cover the unforeseen cost of childcare. Your generosity could also provide financial assistance for the hourly employees no longer working regular hours because regularly scheduled procedures have been postponed.

In this rapidly changing environment, additional news and needs arise every day. Emory has provided a wide array of information and resources on COVID-19, including an online risk assessment, news on clinical trials, and expert guidance for the community. Emory continues to be on the front line of fighting this disease.

To amplify your impact, we encourage you to share with your network why you donated to the Emory Healthcare Employee Hardship Fund via Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

As members of the Emory community, we’re all in this together. Before we can even begin to measure the toll COVID-19 will take on our lives, you have already stepped in to help, and we are inspired by your kindness.

Your generosity and care are what truly define and unite the Emory community.
