Renew your support this #GivingTuesday

November 28, 2022

Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea – a day that encourages people to do good. Your past gift to support first generation students through programs like the 1915 Scholars, Emory FLIP (First-Generation Low-Income Partnership), or QuestBridge helped provide services for students who may not have similar resources available to them from home. It’s through gifts like yours that Emory was able to recently celebrate First-Gen Week (Nov.7-11) to highlight the unique experiences of students who are the first in their families to attend a four-year university. Thank you for being a part of real, tangible outcomes of GOOD by helping build a first-gen community here at Emory.

Ongoing support and advocacy for these first-gen programs is still very much needed. For this reason, we hope you will renew your support again this Giving Tuesday, perhaps also in honor of the 10-year anniversary of this day of global giving back. Gifts of all sizes can help provide scholarship supportprogramming, or spaces for first-generation students to discuss their unique challenges and find mentorship.

GivingTuesday starts now – Your advocacy can help us reach our goal!

Support the 1915 Scholars program this #GivingTuesday

November 30, 2020

Thank you for your generous gift supporting the 1915 Scholars program and first-gen students at Emory!

On November 6-13, Emory celebrated first-generation college students with First-Gen Week, a week of virtual events that highlighted the first-gen student experience and community. This year’s celebration was held in conjunction with National First-Generation College Celebration Day on Nov. 8. and featured a series of opportunities for online connection and engagement, including workshops; panel discussions with students, faculty and staff; and interviews.

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday — a global movement that powers positive change — and we hope you’ll consider sharing this campaign to support the 1915 Scholars program.  By asking your network to join you in making a gift via social media or email (momentum.emory.edu/firstgen), you can amplify our philanthropic impact.

Again, thank you for supporting the 1915 Scholars program and helping build a first-gen home at Emory.
