Your Support Made the Difference!

August 27, 2021

With your gift and the help from Dean Doug Hicks, Oxford will now be able to endow the 2021 Oxford Glass Gift. It will be one of the first-class gifts to be endowed at Oxford. Back in April, Dean Hicks promised to match what was raised up to $25,000 to create a named endowed internship. The funds had to be secured by June 30, 2021 to endow and name the internship. To date over $28,000 has been raised (not all the gifts are noted on the giving page). Thank you to all the parents, students, alumni, faculty, staff, emeriti, and friends who made a gift to help make this opportunity possible! We will continue to update you on what transpires over the next year with plans to create the internship and how it will be awarded.

Here is a message from Harrison Campbell 21Ox, co-chair of the 2021 Oxford Class Gift.

The Oxford Class Gift will also be in memory of Rob Mallard 87Ox

June 29, 2021

As you already know, the Oxford Class of 2021 has chosen to make their gift in honor of Dr. Gary Glass, director of Counseling and Career Services. It will also be in memory of Oxford alumnus Rob Mallard 87Ox. Rob was an amazing person who supported many of his friends and classmates at Oxford and years beyond. The class wishes to honor his memory by naming an endowed internship in his name, along with Dr. Glass’.

They are also coordinating efforts and developing plans with input from Dean Doug Hicks to make the class gift one the first to ever be endowed. He has promised to match what is raised up to $25,000 to create it as a named internship. The Mallard family has also pledged a significant amount and fully support the project. We have been asked to secure the funds needed by June 30, 2021 in order to endow and name the internship. We are very close to seeing this happen. On behalf of Oxford Class of 2021, the Mallard family, and Oxford College, we thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Tammy Camfield 89Ox 91C, Senior Director of Alumni Engagement

We Exceeded Our Initial Goal!

May 13, 2021

The 2021 Oxford Class Gift Committee produced a video about their effort to raise funds for this year's selected gift in honor of Gary Glass, director of Counseling and Career Services. View the video and hear from Dr. Glass and the committee co-chairs.

Thank you for your support and for helping them reach the $10,000 initial goal! A total of $20,000 has been raised, thanks to a single-family donation of $10,000. The OCGC has decided to increase its goal to raise an additional $5,000 before August 31.

If they raise the remaining $5,000, they have someone offering a dollar-to-dollar match of an additional $25,000. This would allow, for the first time in Oxford’s history, for the class gift to become an endowment!

Please help them get there by sharing this with your family and friends. We thank you for all that you do and have done to support Oxford’s mission!

The 2021 Oxford class gift has chosen how to support Oxford!

April 21, 2021

The 2021 Oxford class gift has chosen how to support Oxford. The gift will benefit the entire Oxford community by providing support to raise awareness about the ways in which social justice and mental health intersect. The committee is currently coordinating efforts and developing plans with input from Dean Doug Hicks, Counseling and Career Services, and Campus Life. The class has chosen to make their gift in honor of Gary Glass, Director of Counseling and Career Services, who has guided and supported students during the past year. He is an amazing human being, and the students are thankful to have him at Oxford College.

Be sure to share our class gift campaign with other Oxford Class of 2021 classmates by sharing our URL, http://momentum.emory.edu/OxClassGift21, via Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
