Continue to Honor Daniel DeSevo 97C

October 06, 2017

To our generous DeSevo Donors:

For many of us in this group, 2017 marks our 20-year reunion from Emory University. This time is bittersweet as so many of us wish we could have shared this milestone with our friend, Daniel DeSevo 97C. We likely would have toasted Daniel’s many accomplishments. We would have shared food and fellowship with one of the brightest spirits in our graduating class. We would, if only we could. While Daniel cannot be with us physically, he stays with us always. His legacy lives on through us and through our kindness to others which was Daniel’s legacy.

In honor of this milestone reunion, we are raising funds for the DeSevo Scholarship in hopes of breaking another great milestone, $400,000. This will allow us to increase the award amount to each student, which we hope will reach $10,000 per award this year.

Thanks to all who gave last year! We hope you will consider supporting (or increasing your support of) this great cause this year at momentum.emory.edu/desevo17.

88 percent and 1 more day left

October 13, 2016

Friends and supporters of the DeSevo Scholarship,

We are SO close to a record-shattering year that we extended our Momentum campaign for another seven days. We have raised 88 percent of our $37,000 goal, and we're 100 percent confident that we can bring this goal home with one day left in our campaign! Emory's Momentum platform has allowed us to share Daniel's story, as well as the story of our DeSevo scholars, in new and exciting ways. If this was your first time giving, thank you! If you give to this cause every year, thank you! We could not have come this far without you. Take a moment today and share this campaign with your network one more time. Let's make history this year so the future is bright for our DeSevo scholars for years to come.

Thank you!

Thanks for your support!

Thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign. We’ve reached 69% percent of our goal and only have $11,142 more dollars to raise for the DeSevo scholarship to reach our campaign goal. We hope you will continue to share this campaign on Facebook and Twitter as well as by email to your personal networks. Together we can fund the next generation of outstanding DeSevo scholars.

Reunions are for sharing, and so is this campaign!

September 21, 2016

We really appreciate your support!

If you are an Emory alum, we hope that you have received a personal invitation to join us at Turner Field Saturday, Sept. 24, for an Emory reunion celebration. We’ll share a private suite and refreshments just for our DeSevo scholarship supporters. This will be a wonderful opportunity to mingle with your classmates and other DeSevo scholarship enthusiasts.

Know someone who might want to join us but hasn’t yet given? Please share this Momentum campaign with your networks. When it comes to supporting our future DeSevo scholars, the more the merrier!

Spread the word about supporting the DeSevo Scholarship at Emory!

September 12, 2016

Thank you for your support. In honor of the great success of our first week, we’d like to tell you a little more about the first DeSevo scholar. Timothy Senior 10BBA, a native of upstate New York, was captain of his high school varsity soccer team, student body vice president and president, and class valedictorian. At Emory, he continued as an outstanding student who also participated in Emory Big Band, Sigma Chi fraternity, and worked as a building supervisor at the Woodruff Physical Education Center. Timothy graduated in May 2010 after completing an accounting degree and now serves as a transfer pricing manager for Ernst & Young. Help support other talented students like Timothy by spreading the word about this Momentum campaign for the DeSevo Scholarship today!

Greetings fellow DeSevo scholarship supporters!

September 08, 2016

Greetings fellow DeSevo scholarship supporters!

Thank you to everyone who made the launch of our campaign a huge success. We’re just 24 hours into our fundraising efforts, and we’ve already raised $12,038—that’s 32% of our goal! We know that many of you will be joining us for our Emory reunion party at Turner Field later this month, and we hope to have a DeSevo Scholar join us for the celebration. These scholars embody the kind, courageous, and hard-working spirit of Daniel DeSevo through their academic studies, extracurricular pursuits, and dedication to upholding Emory reputation in their respective professional industries. Through this campaign, we’ll ensure that we can increase the amount awarded to these amazing scholars each year. With your help, we will increase our impact and help talented students at Emory receive a transformative education.

Keep the momentum going by continuing to spread the word!
