To all of our DeSevo supporters, thank you. It has been another amazing year of fundraising for the Daniel DeSevo '97C Memorial Scholarship Endowment. The DeSevo Scholarship Committee is in awe of your generosity and your dedication to seeing this fund grow. Together, we raised $36,737 and our endowment’s value will soon surpass $400,000. This is an incredible investment in future DeSevo scholars and in the equity of your degree as Emory continues to recruit some of the greatest young minds in the world. If you have not yet done so, please watch the video in the Updates section of our campaign page from Michael Furlong 13B, entrepreneur, and DeSevo Scholar. Michael exemplifies the kind, optimistic, and giving spirit we would hope to see in the beneficiaries of our work. From all of us on the scholarship committee and at Emory, thank you for your continued support.
A message from DeSevo Scholar, Michael Furlong 13B.
Thank you.
Thank you for your support so far!
With your help, we are at 86 percent of our $42,000 goal. We have extended our Momentum campaign by a week, giving us through November 15th to reach or exceed our goal. Please continue to share and encourage others to give to this scholarship in order to make the biggest impact we can and to truly honor Daniel’s legacy.
Thanks to everyone who came out to our 20-year reunion celebration this weekend and to all those who had time to stop by the DeSevo tent! Our campaign to fund the DeSevo Scholarship will run for just two more weeks, until November 8. Consider making a second gift in honor of your reunion year, or share this Momentum page with someone you saw this past weekend! Tell them that we are 33% to goal and that every gift counts toward helping us reach $42,000!!
Where has the time gone?
You might hear that a lot over the next few days if you plan on attending Emory Homecoming and Reunions! While it is true that time flies, there have been many accomplishments, weddings, children, and other gifts that we are all excited to share with each other.
Stop by the DeSevo Scholarship tent to say hello. We will be right outside the main concert area at McDonough Field. It will be wonderful to share stories, reconnect, and honor Daniel’s legacy of fellowship.
We are so grateful for your support of the Daniel DeSevo '97C Memorial Scholarship Endowment. You know first-hand that Emory University strives to recruit the best and brightest students in the country and across the globe. These students are part of what makes the Emory experience so unique. They are ambitious, collaborative, thoughtful, and always generous with their service to the community. Our Emory students are well-deserving of scholarship dollars, but we are lagging behind our peer institutions in what we are able to offer. For some talented students, the decision to come to Emory is influenced by the scholarship package they are offered.
Please take a moment to share this campaign with a fellow Emory alumnus who may not yet know the importance of scholarship funding at Emory. You may be surprised at the number of alumni unaware of both the need for scholarship, and that they can support scholarships directly!
Thank you again for your support. Help us keep the Momentum going: momentum.emory.edu/desevo17
Greetings fellow Daniel DeSevo ’97 Scholarship Endowment supporters!
Thank you to everyone who made the launch of our campaign a huge success. We’re just one week into our fundraising efforts, and we’ve already raised over $11,900—that’s 28% of our goal! We know that many of you will be coming back to campus for your 20-year reunion this October. There will be festivities and opportunities to connect all over campus, and we will even have our own tent on McDonough Field promoting the DeSevo scholarship. Join us for an opportunity to greet each other and raise a glass of Coca-Cola to Daniel!
Keep the momentum going by continuing to spread the word and sharing this link: momentum.emory.edu/desevo17.

In honor of your 20-year reunion at Emory University, consider a participatory gift of $20.17.
Daniel was only 24 years old when he passed, yet he lived the adventures of 100 years.
After graduating from Emory, Daniel traveled 631 miles to attend law school at Georgetown University.
Daniel would have been 42 years old this year. It is hard to imagine the countless number of lives he would have touched in that time.
An increase of up to $10,000 per award, per student, will help cultivate the next generation of adventurous, gracious leaders following in Daniel’s footsteps.
